The Western Australian Government has joined the Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), continuing on its path to becoming an industry leader in hydrogen.
The Future Fuels CRC is an industry focused research, development and demonstration partnership supporting the decarbonisation of Australia’s energy networks through the use of low carbon fuels, including hydrogen and biomethane.
The McGowan Government and Future Fuels CRC are working to find safe and reliable solutions to repurpose existing infrastructure, and developing new infrastructure to transport future fuels.
The partnership aims to ensure the reliable and safe operating life of energy infrastructure, and deliver co-ordinated safety policy and regulations associated with the production and delivery of low carbon fuels.
The McGowan Government has committed around $90 million towards developing a job-creating renewable hydrogen industry, and is on target to meet the 2022 goals set out in the Western Australian Renewable Hydrogen Strategy.
The Future Fuels CRC was established in 2018 and includes more than 80 partners in a nationwide collaborative and connected research community.
