CRCA conference reflection

Collaborate | Innovate | 2013 in Melbourne last week was a terrific success. This year we changed the format for most sessions to slant them to a discussion. We revamped the Early Career Researchers competition and they simply blew us away. The awards dinner was tweaked and we joined with ATSE for their awards dinner as well. So far, the feedback I’ve received has been excellent – but please take the time to let us know in a formal way so that we can continue to improve on our offering.

Our speakers, sponsors and exhibitors were simply brilliant and I want to thank each of them for making the event one to remember. Thanks also to my staff and EventCorp.

We won’t be sitting on our laurels. We have a series of announcements coming up (so much so that I think we’ll put out weekly newsletters for the coming month). Our Members made the extraordinary gesture of raising fees beyond what the Board requested at the Annual General Meeting. We hope to return that gesture over the next year.

If you didn’t get to this year’s conference, be sure to mark next year’s on the calendar when we announce it. It will be an event not to be missed.
