Michael commenced employment with the CRCA in February 2007.
Michael’s background is in agriculture. For almost 6 years he was the Deputy Executive Director of the Cattle Council of Australia where he was responsible for the major policy areas of animal health, welfare and quarantine, and managed the Cattle Council’s Federal Government lobbying initiatives. Prior to that time he held a position with the Agricultural Business Research Institute at the University of New England where he managed genetic evaluation for the Hereford and Brahman cattle breeds and assisted beef producers to understand the concepts of quantitative genetics and use the information to breed better livestock. He was Executive Officer for the Australian Brangus Cattle Association and also provided technical advice to the Murray Grey Cattle Breeders Society. In 1998 he was named by Rural Press as one of the Top 100 young achievers in Australian Agriculture. Michael was raised on the family mixed-livestock farm in northern NSW.
Michael holds a Bachelor Degree in Applied Science from Hawkesbury Agricultural College and is a Winston Churchill Fellow. He lives in Canberra with his wife and two young boys.
Pauline commenced employment with the CRCA in May 2007. She has over twenty years experience working in Office Administration based roles, particularly with relation to accounting, research and reporting, communication and customer/member service.
